Demo System
This is a demonstration system. It is not the SWAPO Party’s official website. Information you enter here is real and is handled as described below.
1. Who runs this system
This demonstration is operated by Future CC (Pty) Ltd, Windhoek, Namibia, on behalf of the SWAPO Party of Namibia.
Contact for questions about your information: to be confirmed before this system is used publicly.
2. What we collect
- From the join form: your names, date of birth, gender, phone number, email address, physical address, the region and constituency you choose, your answers to the membership declarations (citizenship, acceptance of the Party’s aims, whether you belong to another party), the two people you name as recommenders, and anything you write in the note to the Party.
- From officials who sign in: their name, contact details, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and two-step login details.
- From everyone: when you sign in we record the time, and the browser and internet address your device reports. Actions taken in the system are recorded with the time and who did them.
3. Why we collect it
To let Party officials consider your application, to keep the membership register, and to keep the system secure and accountable — who did what, and when.
4. Political membership is sensitive information
An application to join a political party says something private about a person. Protections actually in place:
- Officials see only the part of the Party structure their office covers.
- Approving an application is limited to regional and national officials.
- Every official signing in needs a second step from an authenticator app.
- Every change to a member’s record, every decision on an application, and every sign-in is written to a log that cannot be edited or deleted.
5. Who can see it
Officials of the constituency you choose and the offices above it, the regional and national officials who decide, and the administrators who operate the platform. It is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone else.
6. Where it is kept
During this demonstration the information is stored on a server operated by Future CC in France, because the Party’s Namibian hosting is not yet in place. The Party has been asked to arrange hosting in Namibia.
7. How long it is kept
Applications entered during the demonstration are kept and transferred to the Party’s Namibian system when it is ready, and deleted from the demonstration server after the transfer. Anything not transferred is deleted when the demonstration ends.
8. Your choices
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, using the contact above. Deletion may end an application.
9. Cookies
One cookie, only when you sign in, so the system remembers you are signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics. See the cookie notice.
10. Changes
This notice may change while the system is in development; the version and date are at the foot of the page.
